Freaky Fly Bry's Top 100 - July 4, 2021

 It's been a long 20 years, but Coldplay has finally reached #1 for the first time with "Higher Power". This is their 37th appearance to date, and 8th top 10. This is not the longest wait before the first #1; the Foo Fighters waited over 21 years to get their first #1 with "No Son Of Mine" earlier this year.

Dua Lipa's latest release from her hit-packed "Future Nostalgia" album, "Love Again", becomes the 6th single from that album to reach the top 10 as it rises 24-10. It's her 10th top 10 overall, including collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Silk City and Calvin Harris.

Approaching the top 10 this week are collaborations between Galantis/David Guetta/Little Mix (15-12), Marshmello/Jonas Brothers (16-13) and Delaney Jane/Virginia To Vegas (20-15), as well as the comeback single from Diana Ross, who rises 23-11 with "Thank You".

Ed Sheeran's dance-pop anthem "Bad Habits" makes this week's highest debut at #28. This is his 27th chart appearance to date, which includes 6 top 10's and 2 #1's.

Kylie Minogue debuts at #33 with her cover of the Lady Gaga song "Marry The Night". It's her 43rd appearance to date, including 17 top 10's and 2 #1's.

Also entering the top 40 are Inhaler's latest; this band, led by Bono's son, has a U2-esque sound on their new one; Olivia Rodrigo's fourth top 40 from her album "Sour"; Miley Cyrus leading an all-star line-up on a cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters"; Canadian rockers The Damn Truth with their chart debut; and the return of the legendary Melissa Etheridge.

This week's other debuts including JessieLou's follow-up to her #3 hit "Identity Crisis", this time a protest song addressing COVID and the responses thereof called "Let's Pretend There's No Pandemic"; a posthumous release by Aretha Franklin covering Debby Boone's huge 1977 hit "You Light Up My Life"; a collaboration by 80's icons Kim Wilde and Boy George; the latest from the Foo Fighters' latest album "Medicine At Midnight"; another new single by indie princess Beabadoobee; 80's San Francisco rockers Night Ranger and Journey; the chart debut of Grace Gaustad; and 90's pop-rock band Blessid Union Of Souls.
