300. Emerson Hart - I Wish The Best For You (2008) PEAK: #2

Emerson Hart got his start in late 90's rock band Tonic, who had a few songs I'd liked. I eventually took interest in his solo career, with this song being a standout for me, reaching the runner-up spot back in February of 2008.

299. Pink - You Make Me Sick (2001) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

For the singles from her "Can't Take Me Home" era, Pink had the reverse of fortunes than the actual charts; this song, while the lowest-peaking song on the radio from that album, was the highest-peaking on my chart, spending 2 weeks at #1 back in February 2001, and becoming her first of six #1 hits to date.

298. Amy Winehouse - Rehab (2007) PEAK: #6

A song whose lyrics unfortunately rang true in her life, Amy Winehouse had several drug problems in the past few years, and refused to go to rehab to get help. This song, a catchy anecdote of her situation, became one of her biggest hits to date, and reached the top 10 on my chart.

297. No Doubt - Hey Baby (2002) PEAK: #3

No Doubt had got back on track with their "Rock Steady" album, which scored three big hits and a fourth minor hit. This was the first big hit from it, a change in pace from the rock direction of their previous stuff, but it worked well and gave them another hit.

296. The Calling - Wherever You Will Go (2002) PEAK: #7

Several rock bands in the early part of the decade had similar-styled songs, and this one by The Calling became a huge hit, also reaching the top 10 on my chart. Unfortunately, they haven't lived up to the success of "Wherever You Will Go", failing to deliver another hit of that caliber, but this song remains memorable.

295. Jennifer Lopez - Play (2001) PEAK: #3

Another catchy pop song from Jennifer Lopez, if you're a DJ, you better play her motherf***ing song when she's around! This quickly became a top 10 hit, lingering around the top 10 a while before reaching its peak of #3 and continuing her streak of top 5 hits that, at the time, she had yet to miss the top 5 with any of her singles.

294. Rihanna - Disturbia (2008) PEAK: #2

This was quickly hailed last summer as one of Rihanna's strongest moments, and I certainly agreed there. She's had many great songs, this being one of my favourites, reaching the #2 spot last July, only behind "All Or Nothing" by Theory Of A Deadman (which it ironically enough outlasted!)

293. Britney Spears - Piece Of Me (2008) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

Nobody has had more #1's on my chart than Britney Spears; this song, much like "Rehab" about personal troubles in her life, became her eleventh #1 hit on my chart (she's since extended that total to thirteen), and while it did not have the longevity her other #1's did, was still one of my 300 best-charted songs to date.

292. John Mayer - Your Body Is A Wonderland (2003) PEAK: #5

Before he got involved with Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer delivered the huge hit album "Room For Squares", which I still think is his finest work to date. This song from it was a long-running top 5 hit on my chart, and to date remains one of my favourite songs from him.

291. David Cook - Light On (2008) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

This song may have only hit #1 back in last December (and is still on my chart today), but in just three short months, has already accumulated enough points to rank in my 300 best-charting songs of the first 10 years of my chart. This song, along with Daughtry, are proof that American Idol can even churn out rock stars!

290. Paula DeAnda - Walk Away (2006) PEAK: #8

One of 2006's most promising newcomers was Paula DeAnda, who has had a few hit singles so far. This, however, was by far the biggest; it was written by Ne-Yo and Christina Milian, and also remains my favourite from her, reaching #8 on my chart in December 2006.

289. Beyoncé - Naughty Girl (2004) PEAK: #3

The "Dangerously In Love" album, like all Beyoncé albums, was filled with definite hits... and this was one of them. In the spring of 2004, this managed to reach a #3 peak on my chart, and became one of my favourite solo hits from her to date. Her 2 biggest hits are both still to come, as well as several Destiny's Child songs.

288. JoJo - How To Touch A Girl (2007) PEAK: #3

Don't get the wrong idea from the title... this song is a ballad! JoJo followed up her #1 hit "Too Little, Too Late" with this song, which rode the momentum of its predecessor into my top 5 in January 2007, and remains one of my favourites from her to date. Hopefully when she returns, her new stuff will be this good!

287. Lifehouse - First Time (2007) PEAK: #3

Lifehouse has had several big hits on my chart... and this is one of my favourites from them to date. I got into this one instantly, and it quickly became their third top 3 hit on my chart; despite this, they have never had a #1 on my chart! I guess if they do, there'll be a "First Time" for everything...

286. Creed - With Arms Wide Open (2000) PEAK: #3

This was one of 2000's big rock ballads by one of the most popular bands of the early part of the decade. This one was written about Scott Stapp's fatherhood, and resulted in one of their biggest hits ever. Still more Creed to come on my own chart.

285. Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (2005) PEAK: #5

Over the summer of 2005, you couldn't go anywhere without hearing "Don't Cha", the debut single by the Pussycat Dolls. This song started off an impressive career which continues to this day, and remains my favourite song from them to this day.

284. Rihanna - S.O.S. (2006) PEAK: #3

Another song with an infectuous groove, this takes the bass line from Soft Cell's version of "Tainted Love", itself an 80's staple, and gave it a new spin, becoming one of 2006's biggest hits worldwide, and one of my favourite Rihanna songs to date. Her only #1 to date on my chart has been "Unfaithful", how high did it rank?

283. Pearl Jam - Last Kiss (1999) PEAK: #5

Originally starting out as a demo for their fan club, this remake of the 60's classic "Last Kiss" was eventually released as a charity single for Kosovo refugees. The move turned out to be a good one as it became their biggest hit overall, and a top 5 smash on my own chart.

282. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Scar Tissue (1999) PEAK: #11

From one legendary alternative rock band to another... but as opposed to Pearl Jam's grungy sound, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have had a funkier groove. This song became one of their biggest hits to date, and one of their catchiest and mellowest, and despite not reaching the top 10 on my chart, spent half a year in the top 40, resulting in its #282 placing.

281. The Rasmus - In The Shadows (2004) PEAK: #5

One of the most random hits on my chart, this Finnish rock band broke through in 2004 with this worldwide hit. Unfortunately, they haven't been able to reach the same quality since, but they've had a few minor hits on my chart since. This has probably outcharted all the rest of their output combined!

280. Christina Aguilera - Dirrty (2002) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Undergoing a complete redirection in her career here, Christina Aguilera recorded this song with a video to match its title as the lead single from her album "Stripped". While it did reach #1 on my chart, it did not do as well as most of her other #1's, and as a result, she's got many more songs to come.

279. Tal Bachman - She's So High (1999) PEAK: #11

And here's the highest song on my top 500 that failed to reach the top 10 on my chart... but it also had longevity for its peak. The son of legendary Canadian bandleader Randy Bachman, Tal showed that music runs in the family, as this song became one of 1999's biggest hits; unfortunately, it's remained his only big hit to date, but what a memorable song it is.

278. Bryan Adams f/Melanie C - When You're Gone (1999) PEAK: #5

Not that many songs Bryan Adams released during the span of my chart would qualify as "classics", but I feel this one's right up there with his 80's and 90's classics. Melanie C does background vocals and harmonies on this, which, despite having a few other top 10 hits since, is the only Bryan Adams song in my top 500.

277. Mandy Moore - I Wanna Be With You (2000) PEAK: #6

One of many teen pop singers to start in the teen pop explosion of the late 90's, Mandy Moore released this ballad in the summer of 2000, which became, and remains, my favourite song from her. A lot of songs from that era bring back good memories of high school for me, this included.

276. The Wreckers - The Good Kind (2005) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

After scoring five #1's on my chart, I'd anticipated Michelle Branch's next move in her career; a country-pop duo known as The Wreckers. This song was released a year in advance of their "Stand Still, Look Pretty" album (on which it also appears), and appeared then on the soundtrack to "One Tree Hill". Not suprisingly, it gave Michelle a 6th #1 credit on my chart, and brought success that has remained to this day as Michelle prepares to go solo again.

275. Jennifer Lopez - Waiting For Tonight (1999) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Another dance/pop song from my senior year of high school here, in just its third week on my chart it became the second #1 for Jennifer Lopez. This song, which also has a Spanish version on her "On The 6" album (which, to date, remains my favourite of her albums), remains one of my favourites from her to this day.

274. Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl (2005) PEAK: #3

For Gwen Stefani, it was a risk releasing a song that sounded like a cheerleader chant... and what's more remarkable is I didn't like this one at all when I first heard it! That quickly changed, and it reached a peak of #3 on my chart, and became one of her biggest hits overall, if not her biggest.

273. Simple Plan - Addicted (2003) PEAK: #6

While this song with a clever pun ("I'm a dick") did not make the top 5 on my chart, it did spend a record 7 weeks at #6 on my chart! Despite 2 other songs by them peaking higher on my chart, this actually ranks as the highest Simple Plan song in my top 500.

272. John Mayer - Bigger Than My Body (2003) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Another anticipated lead single here, and after the "Room For Squares" album (which remains my favourite from him), this was the lead single from "Heavier Things". It certainly didn't let me down, and became his first (and so far, only) #1 on my chart. Unfortunately, nothing he's released since has even made top 20 on my chart!

271. Enrique Iglesias - Escape (2002) PEAK: #2

Another case (see Simple Plan) where an artist's highest peaking song wasn't the highest ranking in the top 500! This is Enrique's highest peaking song on my chart at #2, an upbeat pop song like he does the best, but 2 of his lower-peaking songs outranked it here!

270. Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me (1999) PEAK: #4

One of 1999's biggest hits was this one, used in movies such as "She's All That". "Kiss Me" remains the biggest hit by Leigh Nash and her band, Sixpence None The Richer, and has endured well over the past decade.

269. Linkin Park - In The End (2002) PEAK: #3

If there's any band that's dominated the alternative rock scene over the past decade, it's Linkin Park. This was one of their most accessible songs, and helped them gain new fans, helping this become one of their biggest hits to date... however, 2 other songs by them beat it!

268. Destiny's Child - Jumpin', Jumpin' (2000) PEAK: #3

Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who by this time, had settled on that line-up, released this song as the follow-up to "Say My Name", and it became another big hit, also reaching #3 on my chart. They were still waiting for that #1 at the time, and by the end of 2000, they'd got it.

267. Kelly Clarkson - A Moment Like This (2002) PEAK: #2

While in recent years, American Idol winning songs have become cliché and predictable, back in 2002, they were something special. Kelly Clarkson, the inaugural winner, delivered this ballad, showing the power of her voice and starting a career that has stayed strong to this day. Of course, you can expect much more Kelly to come in here!

266. Spice Girls - Holler (2000) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

Even though they were down Geri Halliwell by this time, I was still anticipating new Spice Girls music near the end of 2000, and they didn't let me down, with this Darkchild-produced track that unfortunately became their last single together for seven years. I did enjoy some of their solo hits in the meantime though, but it just didn't match up to the Spice Girls together for me.

265. Kate Voegele - You Can't Break A Broken Heart (2008) PEAK: #1 (6 weeks)

After just over two months, this song has already managed to rank as my 265th best charted song of my first 10 years of charting. Such is the power of Kate Voegele, who has quickly become one of my all-time favourite artists; this Diane Warren-written ballad spent 6 weeks at #1 on my chart, and has remained in my top 10 ever since its release.

264. Enrique Iglesias - Bailamos (1999) PEAK: #5

1999 was the year of Latin singers reaching the mainstream. One of them was Enrique Iglesias, son of Julio Iglesias; this debut single showed he could do a catchy Latin-pop song, and started a successful English-language career that has continued to this day with a top 5 hit on my chart.

263. Daughtry - Over You (2007) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Daughtry has become one of the most successful bands of the past few years, and the most successful rock act to come out of American Idol; this song had an oddity in that it was charting at the same time as the similar-sounding "Tongue Tied" by Faber Drive; in fact, one week, they were 1-2! That song is still to come, but here's Daughtry at #263.

262. Justin Timberlake f/T.I. - My Love (2006) PEAK: #2

I wasn't sure if I still had interest in Justin Timberlake's music after hating lead single "SexyBack", but this Timbaland-produced song showed I still did. It became one of three top 3 hits from that album on my chart, despite generally being hit or miss on my chart.

261. Dave Matthews Band - Where Are You Going? (2002) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Another band who's hit or miss for me here; I enjoyed several of the DMB's 90's hits, but it was this one from 2002 that became my favourite from them, as well as being a surprise #1 on my chart that summer. However, like many other acts who hit #1 on my chart once, they have failed to replicate its success since.

260. Celine Dion - A New Day Has Come (2002) PEAK: #4

After a "retirement" of about 2 years, Celine Dion returned in a big way with this song, which has gone on to become one of my favourites from her overall, reaching the top 5 on my chart in the spring of 2002. Still, she has three more songs to come in the top 500.

259. Santana f/Michelle Branch - The Game of Love (2002) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Carlos Santana's career was revived when he started collaborating with modern artists, and the formula he took on the "Supernatural" album continued on his next release, "Shaman". This song featured Michelle Branch, which helped it become her third #1 in a row following "All You Wanted" and "Goodbye To You".

258. Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent (2003) PEAK: #4

This song, co-written by Christina Aguilera, helped show Kelly Clarkson's win on American Idol wasn't a fluke. It became another big hit following "A Moment Like This", and helped her career get going; she has had eight #1 hits on my chart since, seven of which are still to come (as "My Life Would Suck Without You" was released in 2009, which missed the cutoff).

257. Goo Goo Dolls - Give A Little Bit (2005) PEAK: #5

I've always enjoyed Supertramp's original version of this song, and I think the Goo Goo Dolls did it even better than the original. This is one of many hits the Goo's have had on my chart; they still have two more to come.

256. Staind - It's Been Awhile (2001) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Staind is one band who's always had success on rock radio; however, their mainstream exposure is much more limited. This is by far my favourite from them, reaching #1 for a week on my chart back in the summer of 2001.

255. Sarah McLachlan - Fallen (2003) PEAK: #9

Sarah McLachlan is one artist whose releases have been sporadic... however, her album "Afterglow" was definitely one of her strongest works to date, and this lead single, while it only barely scraped the top 10 on my chart, had enough longevity to rank at #255 on my top 500 best charted songs of the past 10 years.

254. Destiny's Child - Emotion (2001) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

This, the first Destiny's Child ballad single release, was a remake of the Samantha Sang hit from the 70's. It became one of several #1's they had on my chart, and one of their most memorable songs to date.

253. Jessica Simpson - With You (2004) PEAK: #3

The reality show "Newlyweds", which starred Jessica Simpson and her then-husband, Nick Lachey, helped revive her singing career, and it was this song that was helped the most with it, reaching #3 on my chart with enough longevity to almost get into the upper half of the top 500.

252. Goo Goo Dolls - Slide (1999) PEAK: #4

Didn't we just hear from them? This was one of their biggest hits overall, and reached the top 5 on my chart in its earliest weeks. Maybe if I started my chart a few months earlier, this would've been higher as it started its run in 1998, but it still lasted long enough to rank this high on my top 500.

251. Jessica Simpson - Irresistible (2001) PEAK: #3

And another singer with two appearances in the list! This song was released just as the late 90's teen pop wave was waning, but still managed to become one of her biggest hits to date, and one of several #3 peakers she's had on my chart.

250. Shakira - Whenever, Wherever (2002) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

The Colombian pop goddess who has small and humble breasts, Shakira broke through into the English-language market with this infectuous pop tune. The English version of her song "Suerte", this took the world by storm in 2001 and 2002, and while its international success has since been eclipsed by "Hips Don't Lie", this still remains her biggest hit to date on my chart, and her only #1.

249. Eva Avila - Give Me The Music (2008) PEAK: #3

A surprise hit from late last year, former Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila returned with this catchy pop song that, far and away, became her biggest hit on my chart, reaching my top 3. She's made a few other appearances on my chart, but this was the only one to be in my top 500.

248. Cascada - Everytime We Touch (2006) PEAK: #2

If there is any sound that is instantly recognizeable in dance music these days, it has to be Cascada. This song became an international breakthrough song, reaching the #2 spot on my chart, blocked by Ashlee Simpson's "L.O.V.E." and then by Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away". However, nothing released since has come close to recapturing this song's success.

247. Marc Anthony - I Need To Know (1999) PEAK: #7

In 1999, many Latin-American singers made their breakthroughs in English, one of them being Marc Anthony. The future husband of Jennifer Lopez had several hits around that time, this being the biggest, and his only top 10 on my chart.

246. Nickelback - Photograph (2005) PEAK: #3

The return of Nickelback was anticipated by me, however, unlike their previous lead singles which hit #1, this fell short at #3. I eventually burned out on it for a while (as I did with several later singles), but once all was said and done, it scored a good enough chart run to rank at #246 on my top 500 of the past 10 eyars.

245. Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around... Comes Around (2007) PEAK: #2

The Timbaland produced album "FutureSex/LoveSounds" has been Justin's biggest success to date, and songs like this show why. This ballad was one of the biggest hits from that album, and on my chart, it was the biggest from that album, even if it was over seven minutes long!

244. Madonna - Hung Up (2005) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

Madonna went in a more dance-oriented direction on this album "Confessions On A Dancefloor", and for her, it was the right move, as this ABBA-sampling stomper became one of her biggest hits worldwide. On my chart, it was also a sizeable hit, reaching #1 for 2 weeks... though I do prefer a lot of her 80's and 90's hits over this.

243. Maroon 5 - Goodnight Goodnight (2008) PEAK: #3

Now here's a song from one of my favourite bands of the past few years that I initially charted when rumoured as a single... and when it was eventually released, it ended up being another big hit for them, reaching a peak of #3. And while it didn't hit #1, it has been one of my favourite Maroon 5 songs overall... despite being a total flop elsewhere!

242. R. Kelly - Ignition (2003) PEAK: #3

One of the filthiest songs on the entire chart, this song was released amid the controversy of his child pornography trial. It ended up becoming one of his biggest hits ever, and on my chart, it is his highest ranking in the top 500.

241. Britney Spears - Womanizer (2008) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

Another very recent one here; this was #1 for a single week on my chart last November, and was Britney's return to super-stardom following the poorly-promoted "Blackout". The infectuous melody, accusing someone (often assumed to be her ex-husband Kevin Federline) of being a womanizer, helped it become one of her biggest hits to date; had its entire run on my chart been counted, it would've ranked higher, but its points from before the cutoff still managed to rank it within the top 250.

240. Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River (2003) PEAK: #2

Even before his "FutureSex/LoveSounds" era, Justin had this Timbaland-produced hit, which became my favourite easily from the "Justified" album. He still has a few appearances to come as a member of 'N Sync, but I believe this is as high as he gets solo.

239. Vitamin C - Graduation (Friends Forever) (2000) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

This song came at the perfect time in my life, as I was graduating from high school as this song was out, so it has a special meaning to me and brings back memories. Naturally, it was #1 on my chart leading into my graduation, and ranks at #239 on my top 500.

238. State of Shock - Hearts That Bleed (2008) PEAK: #8

Another appearance by this Vancouver band, it surprisingly outranks their breakthrough "Money Honey" despite peaking lower! This, however, had more overall longevity... but still isn't their highest! How high did "Best I Ever Had" rank?

237. Everlast - What It's Like (1999) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

A mix of hip-hop and alternative rock sounds here, the former member of House of Pain kicked off his solo career here with this, to date remaining his biggest hit. This story of those who have endured tough times in their lives became a memorable hit that I still recall fondly 10 years later.

236. Mary J. Blige - Family Affair (2001) PEAK: #4

With a Dr. Dre-produced beat, this became Mary J. Blige's biggest hit up until that point, and a perfect reintroduction to her. I hadn't paid much attention to the queen of hip hop soul before this, but this became one of my favourites from her to date, and managed to peak inside my top 5.

235. Shawn Mullins - Lullaby (1999) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

Another unique song delivery here, the verses are more in a spoken word form. It worked well for this Atlanta-based singer/songwriter, as it was #1 on my very first chart back in 1999. Despite losing out potential points to the pre-chart 1998, it still managed to last long enough to rank this high.

234. Britney Spears - Gimme More (2007) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

It's Britney, bitch! That tagline showed the world that Britney was back, even if her VMA's "performance" didn't say so! This infectuous tune, which I instantly caught on to, became another #1 for her, one of thirteen so far, and ranks at #234 overall.

233. Matchbox Twenty - Bright Lights (2003) PEAK: #2

Matchbox Twenty has been one of the most successful bands of my chart's era, and this song that starts off with a simple piano and vocals, and builds up near the end, became one of my favourites from them so far. One other song from them managed to beat it out, despite peaking slightly lower!

232. Goo Goo Dolls - Better Days (2005) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

And here is the highest appearance for the Goo Goo Dolls! This song brought them back after a few years off, and was the lead single from their album "Let Love In". I've generally enjoyed their stuff (though I do prefer pre-chart stuff like "Name" and "Iris"), but this is as high as they get here.

231. Kylie Minogue - I Believe In You (2004) PEAK: #2

Kylie Minogue has many appearances in this list, and the new songs on her "Ultimate Kylie" greatest hits collection were both very worthy inclusions. This one, produced by the Scissor Sisters, reached the runner-up spot on my chart in December 2004 (trailing only "Nobody's Home" by Avril Lavigne), and ranks as one of her highest in here.

230. Lifehouse - You and Me (2005) PEAK: #2

This ballad gave Lifehouse a surprise hit in 2005, proving that "Hanging By A Moment" was no fluke and they had what it took to get yet another big hit! It was very well deserved, as this did reach the runner-up spot on my chart, tied for their highest peak. The bigger hit is still to come here.

229. Avril Lavigne - Sk8er Boi (2002) PEAK: #2

A fun song here from Avril Lavigne, and while not one of the absolute highlights on her debut album "Let Go", it was still a big hit, and reached a #2 peak on my chart, trailing only "Goodbye To You" by Michelle Branch.

228. Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend (2007) PEAK: #1 (4 weeks)

And here's Avril once again! This song was one of her biggest hits ever, and while it did spend four weeks at #1 on my own chart, I got sick of it really fast, and as a result, it had no longevity, therefore missing out on the top 200!

227. Britney Spears - My Prerogative (2004) PEAK: #1 (4 weeks)

Who would've thought she'd actually pull off a Bobby Brown remake this well? After several disastrous remakes in the past, this one actually turned out well, and led off her greatest hits collection. It leaped from its #29 debut position to #1 the following week, where it stayed for four weeks.

226. Matchbox Twenty - If You're Gone (2001) PEAK: #3

And here's a crashout... it's the highest entry for Matchbox Twenty!

This ballad was one of their biggest hits, reaching #3 on my chart in early 2001, and made a big impact with me as well. However, this isn't the end for Rob Thomas as he still has three more appearances to come!

225. Pink - Who Knew (2006) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

After a few less-than-stellar performing hits on my chart, this became Pink's first #1 hit in four years as I felt it was a return to form for her, as was the "I'm Not Dead" album as a whole. She's still got a few more to come in here, including three more #1 hits.

224. Christina Aguilera - Candyman (2007) PEAK: #1 (3 weeks)

Another case of taking old swing music and giving it a modern twist, is Christina Aguilera, which she did on her album "Back To Basics". This song showed off the influences well, and became yet another #1 for her on my chart.

223. Eagle-Eye Cherry - Save Tonight (1999) PEAK: #2

While this song was released in 1998, I was still into it well into 1999, and as a result of its staying power, it still managed to enter my top 500 of the past decade. Shame he hasn't had anything as good since this!

222. Nelly - Hot In Herre (2002) PEAK: #4

One of 2002's summertime anthems here, this led off the hugely-successful "Nellyville" album. He still has two more to come, both collaborations.

221. No Doubt - Underneath It All (2002) PEAK: #3

And here's the highest entry for Gwen Stefani with her band No Doubt, who are supposed to be reuniting with a new album sometime in 2009. And while Gwen's band work has all appeared, she still has a few solo hits to come!

220. Kate Voegele - Lift Me Up (2008) PEAK: #2

For the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, AT&T released a Team USA soundtrack, featuring many American artists recording songs inspired by the Olympics... and for me, the highlight was unsurprisingly Kate Voegele's contribution. This song reached a peak of #2 on my chart, trailing only "Let Me Be Myself" by 3 Doors Down.

219. Stacie Orrico - Stuck (2003) PEAK: #4

By the time she was 17, she'd already become one of the biggest names in contemporary Christian music. This song helped break her into the mainstream, and to date remains my favourite song from her, though I've liked several others that followed it.

218. Kid Rock f/Sheryl Crow - Picture (2003) PEAK: #3

Kid Rock is one of the biggest "love him or hate him" artists. And while I'm not a huge fan of Kid Rock in general, I do like several of his songs, this included. This helped the rapper/rocker gain a new fanbase, as this had a country feel to it; together with Sheryl Crow, they got a huge hit overall, which is my favourite Kid Rock song to date.

217. Daughtry - Home (2007) PEAK: #2

What better song to use as an American Idol exit theme than a song by one of the contestants himself? This song was written by lead singer Chris Daughtry when he found out he was voted off Idol, and was used as the official exit theme for the following season. This helped it get a single release, and it eventually peaked at #2 behind "Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5.

216. Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You (2000) PEAK: #2

Not many black singers come from Ireland... but Samantha Mumba is definitely an exception. This catchy pop song was a big hit back in 2000, and on my chart it reached the runner-up spot, only behind "Independent Women" by Destiny's Child. She did have a few more hits after this, but unfortunately nothing quite as good as this.

215. Counting Crows - Big Yellow Taxi (2003) PEAK: #3

In the 1970's, Joni Mitchell wrote and sang a song about environmental concerns. It's since been covered several times as the song remains very timely, and one of the most successful cover versions came from the Counting Crows. With background vocals by Vanessa Carlton, they got their biggest hit in years, reaching a peak of #3 on my chart.

214. Blue October - Hate Me (2006) PEAK: #2

One of my favourite modern rock bands of the past few years has been Blue October. This song has been their biggest hit to date, and with a catchy melody combined with the lyrics, it managed to get all the way up to #2 on my chart, only trailing "A Public Affair" by Jessica Simpson. Hopefully they'll have more songs this good on their upcoming album "Approaching Normal"!

213. Enya - Only Time (2001) PEAK: #3

Who would've guessed that Enya would have a huge hit with this? The new age superstar from Ireland has had an impressive output, but it was this song that had immense crossover appeal, and ended up reaching a peak of #3 on my chart right around 9/11, an event that this song had been tied to as it had been used in documentaries about the terrorist attacks. She's had a few good songs since, but nothing this classic.

212. Maroon 5 - This Love (2004) PEAK: #4

Maroon 5 has been one of my favourite bands of the past few years... yet it took me a while to get into their debut single "Harder To Breathe". This one was much more instant, yet they still had a way to go, as this managed to only peak at #4 on my chart. However, things did improve for them a lot, as they do have four more songs to come, all #1's.

211. Soul Decision - Faded (2000) PEAK: #2

And here's a Canadian boyband who made a huge splash back in 2000 with this catchy pop song. It remained one of my favourites throughout 2000, and still remains my favourite from them overall, despite enjoying several of their follow-ups.

210. LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight (2001) PEAK: #6

For the soundtrack to the film "Coyote Ugly", country singer LeAnn Rimes transformed into a pop singer with this Diane Warren-written song that instantly became her biggest hit in places like the UK and Australia... but for the USA, it took some time before this became the hit it deserved to be. As for me, I charted it in the summer of 2001, where it hit #6 on my chart, but its two chart runs gave it enough points to almost make the top 200.

209. Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful of Sunshine (2008) PEAK: #3

One of the UK's most successful female singers of the past few years has been Natasha Bedingfield, and while I thought she was on her way to a sophomore slump when I didn't like her song "Love Like This", this turned it all around for her, and gave her a top 3 hit on my chart. Still three more songs from her to come, all of which also made the top 3.

208. Gwen Stefani - Early Winter (2007) PEAK: #2

In 2007, Gwen Stefani's album "The Sweet Escape" had four top 10 hits on my chart, and this was the final single from it. It peaked at #2 on my chart, behind "Won't Go Home Without You" by Maroon 5, and carried its run over into 2008, with all of its points together ranking it at #208 overall. Still two more from her to come, both from the same album.

207. Eminem - Without Me (2002) PEAK: #4

Eminem has been one of my favourite rappers, and songs like this show he can be funny. The lead single from "The Eminem Show" album, it was his biggest hit on my chart at the time, though two #1's, both of which are still to come, have since surpassed it.

206. Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away (1999) PEAK: #5

And here's a true rock anthem from the tail end of the 90's by one of my favourite solo rock artists of that decade. Lenny Kravitz has hit my chart with several songs (even if some of my favourites pre-date my chart), and this was overall the biggest, and his only top 5 on my chart.

205. Coldplay - Clocks (2003) PEAK: #2

Taking their own ways of making songs with the piano as the main instrument and still sounding like rock songs, Coldplay delivered this one which, despite the lack of a chorus, became my favourite song from them (which it still is), reaching #2 for four weeks on my chart, behind T.A.T.U.'s "All The Things She Said" and Daniel Bedingfield's "If You're Not The One".

204. Dolores O'Riordan - Ordinary Day (2007) PEAK: #1 (1 week)

I've always been a fan of the Cranberries' 90's music... so naturally, I was interested when their lead singer went solo. This song definitely didn't disappoint, reaching #1 on my chart for a single week and nearly made my top 200 songs of the past decade.

203. The Killers - When You Were Young (2006) PEAK: #3

Here's a song that I was also anticipating... it quickly became one of my favourite Killers songs, peaking at #3 on my chart, but had it not been released among other anticipated releases, it might've had a shot at #1. Only their first #1 on my chart, "Mr. Brightside" tops this for me, and it is still to come.

202. Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within (2004) PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)

This simple, inspirational ballad was an instant standout for me on her "Stripped" album, as I felt it had a 90's sound to it. I'm glad it was finally released as a single when it was, and it ended up becoming her fourth #1 from that album on my chart. "Dirrty" has already passed, but "Beautiful" and "Fighter" are both still to come.

201. Nelly f/Tim McGraw - Over and Over (2004) PEAK: #2

Who would've expected rap and country to mesh to well together? The unlikely pairing of Nelly and Tim McGraw gave this song wide appeal, and that helped it reach a #2 peak on my chart, behind only "Nobody's Home" by Avril Lavigne. Nelly still has one more song to come, also a collaboration.
