Freaky Fly Bry's Top 100 - November 30, 2025

 This week, two droughts of over 20 years have ended, both by blonde former teen pop starlets.

The first is Hilary Duff reaches #1 with "Mature". Her last #1 was "So Yesterday", on October 19, 2003. Her 22-year gap is now the longest for any artist, surpassing Mariah Carey's 20-year gap that she just achieved earlier this year.

The other is Willa Ford enters the top 10 with "Burn Burn". Her last time in the top 10 was with "I Wanna Be Bad" on September 16, 2001. While 24 years is no record (Eagle-Eye Cherry currently holds this record), it's still no slouch and I salute both Hilary and Willa with their patience to reclaim their past glory on my chart and I'm glad both have released new music that is on par with their classics.

In other news, Bryan Adams enters the top 5 with his latest, "Be The Reason", for the first time in three years. He's looking for his first #1 since "So Happy It Hurts" four years ago.

Kate Voegele and Tyler Hilton have this week's highest debut with a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at #12. They have been performing it at as a duet on their latest tour together, celebrating the music of One Tree Hill, and it was at their concert in Edmonton back in September that I found out that they were releasing a duet version of this classic. Kate's solo version previously reached #1 in 2008, and if this hits #1, not only will it be Kate's 34th #1 (And Tyler's 3rd!), but it would also become the first song to hit #1 in multiple versions by the same artist. It's not the first time two versions of the same song by the same artist charted; Kelly Clarkson's #1 hit "Because Of You" would be remade as a duet with Reba McEntire two years later, just to name one.

In other news, Florence and the Machine follow up their current top 10 "One Of The Greats" and rise 35-23 with "Sympathy Magic", and Shinedown makes a strong top 30 entry with their latest, "Searchlight". The other debuts run the gamut this week with many genres and artists represented. They include first-time charters such as Sophia James, Chloe Qisha, Michael Jackson's nephew Austin Brown and Bruce Willis/Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis with a Christopher Cross cover, Ally Nicholas, Canadian indie rockers Good Kid and contemporary Christian singer Rachael Lampa, who brings back Stacie Orrico to my chart for the first time in nearly two decades. They are joined by follow-up singles from hits earlier this year by The Last Dinner Party, Audrey Hobert, The Midnight, Drugdealer, Jade LeMac, Holly Humberstone and Tate McRae; 80's pop diva Kim Wilde, a previously unreleased demo from Madonna recorded in the "Bedtime Stories" era (a version by Gary Barlow was a UK hit though), Courtney Hadwin paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne by covering Black Sabbath's "Changes", Italian superstar Eros Ramazzotti teaming up with Alicia Keys, and another collabpration from the re-release of Bon Jovi's latest album "Forever", this one being a duet with Avril Lavigne.
